I spend a lot of time on every detail of your Milk Gems to make it as beautiful as possible and as close as possible to the examples on our website. However, due to the fact that my jewelry is carefully handcrafted, it is impossible to make a 100% identical piece of jewelry. In addition, your breast milk or ashes are not exactly the same color as the ones on the website. While I put a lot of time and dedication into my work, there may be something that sets one piece apart from another, such as a small air bubble or a seam. On the other hand, that is what most distinguishes handmade jewelry from jewelry that is mass-produced in a factory.

The easiest way to determine a ring size is to measure a well-fitting ring that you already own. Grab a ruler or tape measure and measure the diameter of the inside of the ring. So measure from left to right the inside of the ring and do not measure the edge. The number of millimeters is the ring size.

The most accurate way to determine your ring size is to visit your local jeweler and have them measure your ring finger.

Sorry, this is not possible. I have my studio at home and, in addition to designing fantastic jewelry, I also try to respect the privacy of my husband and child.

These jewelry are durable. However, as with all fine jewelry, proper care and handling is essential and contributes to the longevity of your Milk Gems. With proper care, your jewelry will last a lifetime.

For DNA jewelry (made with breast milk or ashes) I can ship your Milk Gems 4 weeks from the date I received your breast milk.

Step 1) Color a 3x3cm area with a pencil. (Note: no colored pencil!)
Step 2) Place your finger in the plane, press well!
Step 3) Make sure there is an equal amount of pencil on your finger everywhere and grab a piece of tape.
Step 4) Push your finger on the sticky side of the tape.
Step 5) Stick the tape on a white sheet.
Step 6) Your fingerprint is ready! Take a sharp picture of it, make sure no shadows pass through the fingerprint.
Step 7) Upload the photo of your self-made fingerprint when placing the order and you're done.

Filled gold (gold filled) is made up of 3 layers: gold-copper-gold. Sometimes silver is used instead of copper. The gold is mechanically bonded to the copper or silver by heat and pressure. Filled gold (gold filled) will not tarnish, rub off or discolor. Unlike gold-plated gold (plated), a filled gold piece of jewelery must contain at least 5% of its weight in gold. With gilded gold this is approx. 0.05%. My gold-filled jewelry uses 14 carat gold. Filled gold jewelry lasts a lifetime because the gold layer bonded to the copper core is quite thick.

Wearers sensitive to certain metals can wear gold-filled without fear of an allergic reaction. Gold-filled jewelry can even be worn daily without fear of fading or rubbing off. Filled gold will retain its gold finish for a lifetime and will not fade after a few years like gold plated. Filled gold jewelry cannot be melted down while retaining the gold, because it will then get mixed with the silver.

With gilded or vermeil gold, steel, silver or brass (mix) is dipped in or coated with a thin layer of gold. This coating or thin layer (which provides the gold color) will wear off on a piece of jewelry over time, unlike filled gold where at least 5% gold is bonded to the piece of jewelry with high heat.

Real silver turns black! It is therefore good to see that your jewelery is made of real silver. It is due to exposure to the open air (oxidizing). Silver jewelry also blackens faster due to, for example, sweat, perfume (body lotion and hand cream) and use with cleaning products. It may have to do with the pH value of your skin, one is slightly more acidic than the other. Medication use or even your condition can also influence the blackening of the silver.

Some silver jewelry is rhodium plated or gold plated. As a result, a reaction will take place less quickly and this jewelry will turn black less quickly. However, this process gives the silver more the color of steel. Because I don't like this, I chose not to edit my jewelry with rhodium.

PERSONALIZED JEWELRY

Due to the personal nature of much of Milk Gems' jewelry, I cannot accept returns. All personalized jewelry (with an engraving, chosen gemstone or DNA jewelry made with or from ash residues, breast milk, lock of hair) each have a unique character. This type of product is not eligible for return. If an error has been made during the production process of your jewellery, we will of course look for a suitable solution together. Always state your order number and always send a photo of the piece of jewelry so that we can help you as best as possible!

Cancellation of DNA jewelry or personalized jewelry is only possible after the costs incurred have been settled.

NON-PERSONALIZED JEWELRY

Non-personalized jewelry can be returned or exchanged within 14 days from the delivery date. The return costs are at your own expense.

The jewelry must be returned in the same condition as it was sent. Please contact our customer service at the email address info@milkgems.nl. They will process your return. Please state your order number so that we can help you as best as possible. It is important that you carefully check the return form that you receive from customer service and return it together with the piece of jewelry. Otherwise we unfortunately cannot process your return. You will receive an email confirmation as soon as we have received and processed your return. The entire return process takes a maximum of 21 working days (depending on busy periods and your return type). Please note that we do not reimburse the shipping costs of your original order.

You will be informed as soon as your order leaves the studio. Depending on the type of delivery, you will receive an e-mail at that time with information about your Track & Trace.

If you want to change the shipping address, please contact me via the contact form. State your name, order number and the new shipping address. If your order has already been shipped, we can no longer change the address.
